For the last few years we have invited you and your communities to join us in collecting Easter Eggs to share with those who are supported by the Roberts Centre.
Most years we have collected and shared over 700 eggs!
We are sure that this year you are aware of the pressures and challenges faced by many in our community, but especially by those families who are supported by the Roberts Centre and other local charities,
As well as financial challenges there is also a strong sense of being overwhelmed by the situations we are facing and a weariness and sense that the world is perhaps a dark and unfriendly place. In our Churches our Easter message is one of hope, new life and light in the darkness. We hope that the sharing of an Easter Egg – a sign of that hope, life and light will in a small way bring some light and hope into the lives of those who receive them.
So we are inviting you and your communities to join with us in the Anglican Deanery in this project – to encourage through Lent people to share signs of hope and new life.
If you can collect Eggs locally and then deliver them to St Mary’s Church in Fratton Road by April 1st
… or people can drop into St Mary’s Church which is open every day from 9am – Noon for prayer.
If people want to make financial donations, they can do this either via you or direct to St Mary’s Church – we can share BACS details if needed,
At this time of weariness and uncertainty – we hope we can join together to bring hope and life to those in need
