Join us on a lovely summer afternoon with music, strawberry tea, and a chance to climb the church tower!

From 1.30pm various musicians will be performing in the churchyard for free, with a collection in aid of the Music Foundation. Then, at 2.30pm you can enjoy a Strawberry Tea with a scone, jam and cream, and, of course, strawberries! Tickets for the strawberry tea cost £4 and are available in the church, or can be booked through 02392 822 990 or [email protected].

Finally, from 2-4pm, there will also be a chance to climb the tower to see the stunning views of the city and the surrounding area. You can also see the belfry and look at the breath-taking view over the nave and chancel from the bellringers' room. Terms and conditions do apply, and the last entry is at 3.30pm

Terms and conditions for climbing St Mary’s Tower:
• Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• No children under the age of 5yrs or under 1mtr tall allowed to climb the tower.
• No opened toed shoes, sandals or flip flops.
• Please follow all instructions from our volunteers, the stairs are too steep & narrow for two-way traffic. Give space to others to avoid tripping.
• Tower may need to close at short notice due to adverse weather conditions.
• The clergy hold the right to refuse anyone access to the tower if persons are deemed unsafe or not fit to climb.
• The church will not take any responsibility for any accident, injury, or theft on our premises. Enjoy yourself but be vigilant at all times. You climb at your own risk.
• Persons with heart conditions or pre-existing medical conditions, mobility difficulties or any condition where the effort of climbing is considered hazardous should refrain from attempting this climb. You are required to exercise due care & attention during your visit.
