Our Food Bank runs in the hope of eradicating food poverty; wanting no one in the city to be going hungry. The team understand that there can be a “shame stigma” attached to using a Food Bank and aim to make people feel as comfortable as possible, showing love, restoring dignity, and encouraging those who enter through our doors. This has spurred us to partner with Kings Church, Portsmouth and The Trussell Trust to launch The Food Bank at our City location.

We want to be an environment of hospitality - a safe place that’s welcoming and respects confidentiality. Our Food Bank always wants to be a community for the local area, where relationships are made in a non-judgemental space.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Portsea, All Saints, Saint Alban and Saint George is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Portsmouth’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
