Getting here
We exist to seek to help everyone to know Jesus, worship him and share his love.
People have worshipped in this place since at least Norman times. It is possible to trace something of the continuous history since the early 12th century. The tower was added in 1272, with a later spire which is regarded as one of the finest in the country. Inside the church the oak carvings lining part of the sanctuary walls are probably Jacobean and portray a range of Biblical stories. A kitchen and disabled WC were installed to mark the millennium. More recently, the clearance of dilapidated pews at the rear of the church and their replacement by stone paving was accompanied by the installation of modern oil-fired central heating and a public address system, which includes a hearing aid loop for the remaining pews on the North side of the aisle. These improvements have given us the flexibility to use this fine building for varied forms of worship and social meetings.
