It's the end of March now and it has taken us from December to March to have the clock working on the new winding mechanisms.
Although the clock is working it is gaining time so the bells are not ringing on the hour. The clock is run from a pendulum that hangs down from the clock and into the bottom of the bell tower. My understanding of pendulums (newtons laws) are that to speed it up you add weights to the pendulum or shorten its length. The opposite is true to slow it down.
As we need to slow the clock down it would have been nice if we could just remove weight from the pendulum. As the weight is one solid piece this is not possible. The adjusting nut below the weight looks very rusty so our next action will be to remove the pendulum and try and free up the nut allowing us to lengthen the pendulum.

In the meantime we still need to raise another £3000 so please consider buying some time either through the web site or from me at [email protected]
