St John the Baptist's Church, Barnack

A welcoming, family friendly, mission orientated church working hard to serve the local community.

The church building is open every day for private prayer and visitors. Its treasures in stone include a fine Christ in Majesty, apparently in Byzantine style, and an Anglo-Norse carved coffin lid. The earliest parts of the church date from Anglo-Saxon times.

Worship takes place every Sunday at 9.30 pm. The normal pattern of worship is for Communion on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month, and Morning Praise on the 4th Sunday.

Safeguarding

The parishes in the benefice of Barnack with Ufford, Bainton, Helpston, and Wittering are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, PSO. The Diocese of Peterborough’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.
If you have questions or concerns you wish to discuss, you can speak to either Rev. Gary Alderson on 07503975588 or  Kate Hinchliff, our Parish Safeguarding Officer on 07745116621 .

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police on 999/101 and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
