EVENT:

The Holy Sepulchre is the medieval church located in a vast and leafy churchyard sandwiched between the town centre and the Mounts.

Its spire often visible above the buildings when travelling through the town centre. However, it is a place that may often have seemed closed off to visitors and somewhere difficult to visit.

The current PCC and congregation are looking to change that, to breathe new life into the congregation, building and surroundings. They would like the Holy Sepulchre to be a place where all are welcome and to become a vibrant centre to the parish.

On March 8th the team will be holding an open day and £1 jumble sale inside the medieval church and hope to see as many visitors as possible. The church will be open between 2-4 and will have guides to show you around and various stalls where all the items will be valued at £1.

You will even be able to treat yourself to some tea and cake as you walk around or enjoy it whilst you sit down and take in the magnificent surroundings. There will be colouring and Lego activities free for the children. Any money raised will be put towards children’s activities within the church. They would love to see you and welcome you into what is undeniably one of the most beautiful, historic buildings in Northampton.

Church Of The Holy Sepulchre

Holy Sepulchre has been welcoming worshippers and visitors in Northampton since 1100AD.

While we love our building we recognize that the church community is more than a building and our services, events, and groups all aim to bring people together.

As a registered Inclusive Church we welcome all people regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, mental or physical abilities, or financial or social status. We fully support the ministry of women as deacons, priests, and bishops.

Services are usually followed by tea, coffee and biscuits in the adjacent Community Room.

We also know that attending a church for the first time can be a little nerve-wracking and daunting too. For this reason we have a community manager whose job it is to answer any of your questions, meet you before service, escort you into the building, introduce you to others and walk you through how we worship here. We want you to feel cared for here and not allow nerves or worries to get in the way of your worship. Just e-mail [email protected] and we can start chatting.

Similarly, if you want to attend but getting here is a challenge, e-mail as we might be able to help.
