SCARECROW FESTIVAL 2024

Occuring
for 4 hours
Venue
The Green and Village Hall
Address
The Green and Village Hall, Badby, NN11 3AF

The annual community fun event to raise funds for St Mary's Church.

Badby scarecrow festival and fun dog show, with music on The Green on Sunday 8 September, 1 - 5pm
We would love to hear from you if you'd like to bring something to the party.

We're looking for stall holders who'd like to sell their wares (anything locally made is always welcome), activities, especially games for small children, and of course anyone who would like to help us organise in advance or support on the day - we are always grateful for anyone who can help us to set up, direct traffic, keep things running smoothly, and afterwards.
There will be food available, and this year tea and cake will be in the village hall, not the church.

We're just finalising the theme for the scarecrows and will let you know that soon, so please keep an eye open so you can start making your scarecrow (the more the merrier).

This is a lovely afternoon in the village, for everyone here, your family and friends, and we often get lots of visitors from further afield.

Ruth & Judy,

St Mary, Badby

The 14th century building, with a fine 15th century clerestory, dominates a knoll at the top of the village, which had a population of 701 at the 2021 census.

The parish is one of five comprising the Knightley Parishes, sharing one Rector, but since April 2024 in interregnum. With invited priests and lay members a schedule of services is maintained as shown on the Services and Events page.  We welcome everyone to our services.

The church is open every day between 10am and 4pm - do come and visit for quiet contemplation, prayer and exploring the heritage and history of the building over its 600 years.  There is a free Quick Guide leaflet and a £3 full History as well as illustrative boards of the Pew Platform and Roof Repair Projects.

The parish of Badby St Mary is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults.
