Entrance to the churchyard is ramped. There are steps down into the church but a ramp is available if required
One of our church wardens has attended 'dementia awareness' courses that have included aspects of worship content for those who suffer from this afflication. She also helps to lead worship in two care homes each month.
Our Building
The buiding is listed: there are more details about this on our web-site at www.holcot-church.org.uk/history.html
Music and Worship
Unfortunately, the tower is no longer able to support active bell ringing and all the bells are now locked.
There are occasional concerts organised: details can be found on the church web-site.
The worship band leads worship on the first and third Sundays of each month.
Groups, Courses and Activities
Coffee mornings are held on the first and third Wednesdays at (10:30 - morning prayer) 11:00 in the church room
We run a Junior Church three times a year for primary aged children. This lasts for four weeks. The children study a different theme each time using craft, painting, story-telling and song. Displays are put up in the church and the children help to lead the family service held at the end of the four-week block.
Help for Visitors
There are reference guides for the history of the church, the wall paintings and the bells. These are being digitised and will eventually be available through the church web-site.
The church is usually open every day during daylight hours. If the church is locked, there are local key-holders.
Other Features
Parts of the churchyard are given over as conservation areas: these are mostly in the older parts of the churchyard. There is also an open area adjacent to the church (the site of the village school) where people can relax and watch the world go by.
The church room is available for hire. Please contact either Frank Hodgson or Lesley Hunter via the church web-site.
