Today the Church calendar celebrates the festival of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. We celebrate this festival as the patronal service in the Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Etal with a short service of Holy Communion and to hear why this day is celebrated.

St John the Baptist, Lowick

Hello and a very warm welcome to Lowick and the Parish Church of St John the Baptist.

Regular Sunday services celebrating Holy Communion take place here at 9.15am each Sunday led by myself and my team. For other services and events in our benefices, please check the pages of Ancroft, Ford and Etal on A Church Near You..

Choir activities, monthly 'Souper Saturdays', men's breakfasts and youth evenings afford other opportunities for you to meet with us. Please do get in touch if you would like any more information.

We are delighted to be able to welcome visitors back into our building following the pandemic. We continue, however, to be mindful of the needs of the clinically vulnerable and sanitizer is provided and due care taken at the distribution of wafers at communion.

Please browse our pages and feel free to contact us - we'd love to hear from you.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Lowick & Kyloe: St John the Baptist is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, PSO. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
The PSO for St John the Baptist is:
