Healing, reconciliation and restoration are integral to the good news of Jesus Christ. For this reason prayer for individuals, focused through laying on of hands or anointing with oil, has a proper place within the public prayer of the Church. God’s gracious activity of healing is to be seen both as part of the proclaiming of the good news and as an outworking of the presence of the Spirit in the life of the Church.
During this service we come to God as we are. We acknowledge our human needs and frailty, and we are assured of the love of God as we are anointed in the name of Jesus Christ.
As Christians we are always reminded that God prepares a place for us in His Kingdom and that all the pains and trials of this life will come to pass. This is our hope as we come together to offer our worship, to sing God’s praises, and to rejoice that God made us in His image.
