About Us
St Bartholomew's Church is the parish church for the villages of Cresswell and Ellington. This grade II listed stone church was built in 1836 by the Baker Cresswell family and contains stained glass windows by Thomas Willement (1786-1871), Joseph Baguley (1834-1915) and Leonard Evetts (1909-1997). The churchyard has provided burials for the community since 1899 but is now full, though existing graves will continue to be used for further family burials (as capacity permits) and the adjacent Cresswell Cemetery (administered by Northumberland County Council) is still open.
To enquire about weddings and baptisms ('christenings'), please contact the parish by e-mail ([email protected]) or by phone (07769 988527) - or join us at our Sunday service here at Cresswell at 10.30 and get your questions answered over a cup of coffee after the service!
