Welcome to St Mary's, the parish church for Longframlington with Brinkburn, with its Grade 1 listed church building, dating back over 800 years - and an active 21st century congregation, keen to share the love of God near and far. Behind the church is its adjoining 21st century Community Room, which is a great facility. Just like our village, St Mary's includes both Northumbrians and those who have moved to the area to work or to retire.
Our normal services are Holy Communion on Sunday mornings at 09:20, with a service of Evening Prayer on the first Sunday evening of each month, and Morning Prayer - also accessible on Zoom - each Wednesday morning at 09:30. For those who feel unable to get to church at present we provide links to local and national online services.
In addition to our formal services the church is available to individuals for private prayer and reflection every weekday, while as part of the Church of England we provide on this site links to the Daily Hope freephone prayer line and to a variety of resources to help us to pray.
From March 2023 the Revd Rich Townend has been Priest-in-Charge, covering the parishes of Felton, Longframlington and Brinkburn, and Whittingham with Edlingham and Bolton Chapel. Pastoral care is accessible via the "Get in Touch" page from this website: the same contact details continue to apply.
Whether you visit the building for a service or to pray in private, join one of our services, or merely stop a while, we bid you a very warm welcome. We’d love to meet you and get to know you! Please feel free to explore this website and our church building. And do get in touch to ask any questions - however profound or trivial!
Safeguarding
The parish of Longframlington with Brinkburn is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Jane Kartupelis. For more information see the Safeguarding at St Mary's page, which also contains links to information and contacts at Diocese level.
The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for The Venerable Catherine Sourbut Groves, Archdeacon of Lindisfarne who advises our PSO. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please use the contact details on Reporting Abuse and Finding Support on the diocese website, which also includes emergency numbers for the police and local authority Children or Adults Services.
