They were led by local artist, Claire Eason from Soul2Sand, and she supported the Rooted groups to create a huge piece of sand art focussed on themes chosen by them of peace, inclusion and equality. Claire had used drawings created by the young people to design one image of the dove which was drawn and raked into the sand on a huge scale. The outer area was transformed with a multitude of stick people (plus animals) doing a huge variety of things so each person could make their own personal contribution.
These beautiful photographs were taken by drone and show the stages of creation until it was finally swallowed up by the incoming tide. A really lovely day.
