St John the Divine

Welcome to St. John the Divine, parish church for Chevington parish.

St John's serves the local communities of Hadston, Red Row, North Broomhill and South Broomhill; we are a small friendly congregation who welcome visitors to our services.

Our parish is currently in vacancy as our former priest retired in February 2020. For the time being we are under the care of our Area Dean, Alison Hardy, who can be contacted via Embleton parish church https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/16285/

VISITING US

St John's church is usually open between 10am and 4pm daily (3pm between November and March). Please drop in and see our beautiful church.

Unfortunately car parking is limited and on Hadston Road by the main gate into the churchyard; if you come by car, please be considerate of other road users and park carefully.

Our churchyard has been closed for burials for many years and is maintained by Northumberland County Council with a large area left for wildlife. We have a willow circle in the churchyard, with seating, visitors are very welcome to come and sit there and enjoy the peace of the location.
