We are delighted to be able to announce that St John's has been awarded the Silver Award from A Rocha Eco Church. This reflects the commitment and work we've all been putting into improving our care for God's creation, whether that's by doing things as simple as saving soft plastics for the Co-op collection bin, turning off lights as we leave a room, reusing and recycling whatever we can - every little helps!
Thankful that this has become a yearly occurrence from Mary’s idea to the skills and patience of Druridge Bay Craft Club (Sheila, Penny, Linda, Carollyn, Maureen, Joan, Silvia, Mavis & Jean) and Julie and I putting the display up. It’s truly beautiful 🙌🏽 Upgrade from last year’s display to a more substantial netting etc. Thank You All!
In Flanders fields poppies grow,Where many a hero now rests their heads;never to see their homes again. They left behind mothers, fathers, wives, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters;never to see their loved ones again. If only we didn’t have to go to war, but to live in peace. That is why we lie in Flanders fields, where poppies grow, never to grow old.Just to rest, in peace for eternityTo all our heroes who died so that we could be freePenelope A.
