With the laying of new vinyl flooring to the kitchen and entrance area we have finally completed the refurbishment of our single storey area. With many thanks to all the people who have helped over the past 2 years, with fundraising, the contractors who worked with us and the volunteers who helped move things, clean things and generally keep the place in order.
Might God be calling you to serve in this spectacular part of God’s creation? Close to designated coastal Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and Northumberland National Park, these parishes are stunning, whilst also being well-connected by roads to the city of Newcastle and the historic market towns of Morpeth and Alnwick. The two churches each have their unique identities and both attract increased numbers of inhabitants and tourists. We seek a priest who has well-developed leadership abilities, together with strong collaborative skills to help develop vocation, discipleship and mission as we seek to grow younger and more diverse. Our new priest will have a robust vision for rural and semi-rural ministry. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with a love of community who is looking to extend and develop their leadership in a context that offers great potential for growth.https://www.newcastle.anglican.org/about-us/vacancies/priest-in-charge-of-amble-and-chevington.php
After 4 years without a priest we are happy to say that this week the Bishop of Berwick and Archdeacon of Lindisfarne met with the PCCs of Amble and Chevington to approve our parish profile and formally sign off on the recruitment of a Priest in Charge to serve both parishes. We are looking forward to the next few months and hope that by Christmas our new priest will be with us.
