St Aidan’s and St Hilda’s are saddened by the news of Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

This comes as another blow after a couple of years of uncertainty and grief, and as the cost of living crisis looms.

In all this, we give thanks for Her Late Majesty’s constancy and service, praying for the new King, King Charles III, his Queen Consort, Camilla, and the Royal Family in this time of personal loss and great change.

We also hold this nation in our prayers, particularly our local community, and offer our churches as spaces to reflect, to offer condolences, and to pray, should you wish.

St Aidan's will be open for Evening Prayer at 5pm for an hour each day from Tuesday 13th September until Saturday 17th September. There will then be a service of prayer and thanksgiving on Sunday 18th September, also at 5pm.
