Coffee and light refreshments are serviced in our Jubilee Hall every Friday from 10am onwards. A lovely opportunity to come together to chat with old friends and make new ones. Everyone is welcome and also a chance to find out what activities and events are taking place during the coming weeks and months.

During the Season of Lent a said service of Holy Communion will take place each Wednesday. We encourage people to join us in worship as we make our Lenten journey together. We will have several visiting priests during this season. A great opportunity to listen and understand each persons view on the meaning of Lent, as we listen to scripture and understand its meaning in the modern world.

We are part of an international and inclusive network of 4 million members across the Anglican Communion in 90 countries, serving Christ in our communities through prayer, financial support and actively engaging in programmes that meet local needs.Mothers Union was founded in 1876 and Newcastle Diocese was one of the first in the world to embrace MU as part of its mission and ministry to families in local communities.
Holy Nativity MU branch supports a number of local projects including AFIA (Away From It All) holidays for families in need, local refuges and People’s Kitchen.

Members meet on the first Monday of each month at 2pm in the Jubilee Hall. There is often a visiting speaker and refreshments served. You are welcome to attend these meetings if you are wondering about becoming a member.

A traditional Palm Sunday Eucharist will take place as we recreate the triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Our service will commence in the Jubilee Hall as we gather for prayers and to bless our Palm Cross, before we make the small Journey round the church to carrying our Palms to symbolise the path Jesus took as he journeyed to the city.

During Holy Week, Holy Cross will have a service each day either morning or evening, of either Evensong, Compile or Holy Communion, as we prepare ourselves for Maundy Thursday service of the last supper, Good Friday and the Crucifixion, followed by Easter Eve and Easter Sunday.

Monday 14th April - Compile in the Lady Chapel 7pm
Tuesday 15th April - Evensong - 7pm
Wednesday 16th April - 10am Holy Eucharist - Lady Chapel

A symbolic service of foot washing (Maundy) followed by the commemoration of the the Last Supper that Jesus shared with the apostles. The service ends with the stripping of the that symbolises the humiliation that Jesus suffered and the emptiness of the Cross. The service concludes with a period of reflection as we gather in the Lady Chapel to reflect during the last hours Jesus spent with his father in heaven.

A Service of Reflection and Meditation as we observe and commemorate the Crucifixion of Jesus. The service is based upon observance, sorrow, penance and fasting.

A service of Light following the darkness of Good Friday and the Crucifixion of Jesus. A service of preparation as we prepare for the dawning of Easter and the rising from the Tomb of Jesus.

A celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. A traditional eucharist service followed by a Easter Celebration of refreshments. A wonderfully joyous service as we celebrate the rising to new life of the Lord.
