Safeguarding

St Francis Church is comitted to the safeguarding children, young people and adults and promoting good practice.

You can read our Parish Safeguarding Policy for Children and Young People here and our Parish Safeguarding Policy for Vulnerable Adults here

We are committed to working within the latest Church of England safeguarding policy

The diocesan document "You will be listened to"can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advises our PSO.   If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
