Blessing of the Crib and first Mass of Christmas

Saint Ann, Newcastle upon Tyne

Saint Ann's Church was consecrated in 1768. Designed by William Newton in a dignified English Renaissance manner to replace a much older chapel dating from 1344. The light and spacious interior was redecorated to celebrate the church's 250th anniversary. Saint Ann's surrounding churchyard has views of the River Tyne and includes many notable historic graves of local people. A history trail of significant memorials in the church grounds is available. You are welcome to join us for our regular worship on Sundays and Tuesdays.

"The parish of Newcastle: St Anne is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
