Saint Ann's Church was consecrated in 1768. Designed by William Newton in a dignified English Renaissance manner to replace a much older chapel dating from 1344. The light and spacious interior was redecorated to celebrate the church's 250th anniversary. Saint Ann's surrounding churchyard has views of the River Tyne and includes many notable historic graves of local people. A history trail of significant memorials in the church grounds is available. You are welcome to join us for our regular worship on Sundays and Tuesdays.
