This is our main Communion service on Christmas morning, suitable for all ages.
Feel free to bring your presents along; free to wear your Christmas jumper; or free to dress formally. On this joyful morning, it's the welcome we give to one another, and to the Christ-child, that will count.

Lord Jesus, Light of light,
you have come among us.
Help us who live by your light
to shine as lights in your world.
Glory to God in the highest.
Amen.

St Mary's Slaley

St Mary's is a lovely, growing church at the heart of our village. You will always be welcome.

We meet for worship every Sunday at 11.15am.

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and fifth Sunday of every month.

Messy Church (hugely popular!) is celebrated every quarter in the Commemoration Hall, Slaley.

St Mary’s has united Anglicans and Methodists in the village since Advent Sunday 2017. We feel that our union is both happy and creative under God.

Safeguarding

The parish of Slaley: St Mary the Virgin is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

If you need to talk to someone about a safeguarding issue you can contact one of our safeguarding officers:
