Bridge over the Marchburn in Riding Mill by the Tennis Club, We will meet at the footbridge and after our short service by the water we will walk with our Cross back past the Village Hall and along the course of the Roman Dere Street to St James' Church., NE44 6DN

We take a Cross to the Marchburnside, next to the Tennis Club. While there we will reflect, from within God's Creation, on the story of the Passion of Jesus and what it means to us today.
We return to the Church building via Dere Street where if you wish you may spend time reflecting together on the Cross from 3pm to 4pm.

St John

The beautiful church of St John, of the Parish of Healey, is open all day and every day for private prayer. Our visitor book tells us just how many people find that it is an ideal place to contemplate, restore, and commune with God. You are welcome here.

We have one formal service a month, at 5pm on the third Sunday. This may be Evening Prayer or Holy Communion: we use the words from the Church of England's Common Worship in modern language.

There are special services at Easter and Christmas - our Carol Service at 6pm on Christmas Eve is particularly beautiful, we think.
