About Us

Welcome to the Parish of Cowpen, a vibrant and welcoming community at the western edge of Blyth, Northumberland! Our Parish serves the neighbourhoods of Cowpen, Leech's Estate, Kitty Brewster, Chase Farm, Horton Park, Beaumont Manor, and Crofton Grange, as well as the nearby industrial estate and retail park. We’re proud to be a place where everyone can feel at home.

Our beautiful Parish Church, built in the 1960s to replace the old church of St. Catherine, has a unique and striking design—it looks like an upturned boat! We love this modern touch, and we hope you’ll feel the same when you visit. A warm welcome always awaits you, whether you’re dropping by to join us for worship, one of our events, or just to have a look around. For more information on what’s happening, you can find event details and contact information on this website or our Facebook page.

We’re also blessed with fantastic facilities to bring the community together. Our large hall is perfect for hosting events and parties, while the enclosed Parish Garden is a peaceful, maturing space for all to enjoy. With two access points and car parks—off Brierley Road, just down from the Spar store, and via Devonworth Place—getting here is simple.

Our grounds are expansive, and our fabulous garden offers a lovely place to relax and connect with nature. There’s always something happening at Cowpen, with a variety of regular activities to get involved in, and we’re open to new groups and ideas too. Whatever brings you here, you’ll find a community that’s caring, inclusive, and excited to welcome you. So come along—we’d love to meet you!
