Our LENT COURSE starts TONIGHT at St Andrew’s Church, Bromley Cross, from 7.30-8.45pm. There will be 5 weekly sessions and each will end with a short service of Compline.
Session 1 Wednesday 12th March, led by Team Rector, Revd Ian Hepburn, on Chapters 1 & 2 of “Wild Bright Hope”, published by SPCK (ISBN 978-0-281-09100-3), which has interesting contributions from 12 dynamic authors, each exploring the power of hope; a transformative Lent book from the national church Big Church Read book and resources for Lent 2025.
Themes include unity, peace, hope in politics and hope in suffering, inspiring readers to confront challenges with renewed faith.

Walmsley Church

Walmsley Parish has two churches: Christ Church Walmsley, located on Blackburn Road in Egerton (BL7 9SA) and St. Andrew's Church, on John Street, Bromley Cross (BL7 9BA). We are in the PARISH of WALMSLEY, part of the TURTON MOORLAND TEAM of six churches and Bolton NE Mission Community.

PUBLIC WORSHIP is vibrant and active in WALMSLEY PARISH. Our weekly Sunday Services are at Christ Church Walmsley at 9.30am and at St. Andrew's Church, Bromley Cross at 11am where you will be made very welcome.  

At Christ Church Walmsley, we have a midweek Communion Service on a Wednesday at 11am. [Please note: on the last Wednesday of the month, it is a Service of the Word.]

On the FIRST SUNDAY of the month at Christ Church Walmsley, we have a quiet, spoken Communion Service at 8am using the Book of Common Prayer. And then at 9.30am, our lively, FAMILY ‘ALL AGE’ SERVICE  - with music by RIVER OF LIFE and percussion accompaniments by the children.

Out of Hours Support
The Diocese of Manchester partners with thirtyone:eight and you can access their Safeguarding Helpline if the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser is unavailable. Thirtyone:eight can be contacted on 0303 003 1111. This also includes any safeguarding queries outside of office hours on weekdays and weekends. An Information Sharing Agreement between the two organisations will allow the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser to receive a copy of the advice thirtyone:eight may offer the caller.
