St Peter

St Peter's Church is a Church of England parish church in the village of  Belmont on the north side of Winter Hill on the edge of the West Pennine Moors. The church was built in 1849 and consecrated on April 1st, 1850.

Today, St Peter's is part of a team of six Anglican churches in four parishes serving communities in the north Bolton and Turton area. Although geographically St Peter's is in the Borough of Blackburn, for historical reasons, it is part of the Diocese of Manchester.

The parish of Belmont: St Peter is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
