Hymns & Music for 14th March 2021 recorded by Mel, St. Paul's Church Organist
Mel, St. Paul's Church Organist, writes:
This week, I'm recycling two hymns used last year and as more of the hymn book gets recorded that will become more frequent. We have now reached mid Lent, “Laetare Sunday” and Mothering Sunday and it was for this day last year that these "karaoke" hymn videos began to be created. The other two hymns were recorded during last week's visit to Holcombe Church and my thanks again for their kindness lending me their building and organ. Plans are in place to get St Paul's organ once again into a usable condition next week.

Using the same tune as 'As with gladness men of old' for 'For the beauty...' always strikes me as quaint so we have Geoffrey Shaw's jaunty "England's Lane. I've also used the tune 'Abbot's Leigh', created in the post WWII years as an alternative to Haydn's "Austria.
Two more evening hymns complete this week's offerings.
