Hymns for 24th May - recorded by Mel, St. Paul's Church Organist
Our organist, Mel, is recording hymns week by week on her organ at home. She's posting videos of them, complete with the hymn words, on her YouTube channel. The four hymns scheduled for 09:00 on Sunday 10th May have been recorded and uploaded as usual. They are:
AMNS 87 Hail the day that sees him rise - https://youtu.be/JklNt3KA5K4
AMNS 376 In Christ there is no east or west - https://youtu.be/rp-yQAwME1M
SHF 98 Father we love you - https://youtu.be/TYgCXFWrHIs
AMNS 114 A safe stronghold our God is still - https://youtu.be/3_gAD54K41k
The closing voluntary would have been the chorale prelude J S Bach wrote for Ascensiontide in his collection of 45 that cover the church year, “The little organ book” (Orgelbüchlein). The Ascension one is Heut triumphieret Gottes Sohn (Today the Son of God triumphs). It is found at the link
JSBach BWV 630 - https://youtu.be/x-TUJhYSJx8
Two extra hymns have been added this week, requested by the Turton Moorland Team Ministry for services they are preparing. These therefore don’t have any St Paul’s “branding” and they are:
Lord enthroned in heavenly splendour - https://youtu.be/-hl6ChqkEXY
Love divine all loves excelling - https://youtu.be/b3xOQTqk83k
