About Us

Welcome to St George’s, the visible sign of the Church in our community of Unsworth.

The first church on this site was built in 1729, with the present building dating from 1842. We became a parish in 1885, and in March 2014 we joined with our sister church at Hillock to become the Parish of St Andrew Hillock and St George Unsworth.

There’s a lot going on at our Church, and you’ll find information about the various activities on this site. The people of St George are committed to ensuring that the Church serves the community in as many ways as possible. We’re here to listen and try to help in the difficult times, and to celebrate in the good times for all the people of Unsworth.
