Christ Church Pennington

Christ Church Pennington is a Christ-centred, Anglican, evangelical church in Leigh which holds both the modern and historic together in style, relies on the Bible and Holy Spirit together in worship, and seeks to be a community of both young and old disciples of Jesus to the glory of God.

The parish of Pennington: Christ Church is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Reporting a concern
Any safeguarding concerns in a parish should be brought to the attention of your local Parish Safeguarding Officer(s) (PSO) in the first instance, who can seek further advice from Abbey Clephane-Wilson, the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser (DSA), as necessary.

Safeguarding concerns in a school/university/prison/healthcare setting should be raised with the relevant organisation’s Safeguarding team. If the concern involves one of our chaplains, please also contact Abbey Clephane-Wilson, the diocesan safeguarding officer directly.
