Our mission statement

The vision of the Diocese of Manchester is to be a worshipping, growing and transforming Christian presence at the heart of every community. 

 Its core message of faith, hope and love is as relevant today as it’s ever been.

The cross shown on these pages was designed and worked by members of the congregation for the festal altar frontal. It is used as a visual reflection of our belief and purpose.

The church is symbolised by the cross which, worked in layers to give a 3D effect, broadens from the base - the church growing. 

The parish is symbolised by the continuous circle - the church surrounded by its parish, the church growing in the life of the community. The candle symbolises the church as the life and guiding light of the community.

Colours range from old gold to bright pure gold on an ivory background.  The candle is in ivory and the flame is red and orange to symbolise the richness of life.
