On Sunday evening churches in Ramsbottom, Tottington, Hawkshaw, Holcombe, Edenfield and Stubbins came together for a service of thanksgiving and commissioning. The service, held at St Andrew’s and with the Bishop of Bolton, Mark Ashcroft preaching, saw the commissioning of the Ramsbottom and Tottington Area Mission Community linking the Ramsbottom and Edenfield team with Hawkshaw and Holcombe parishes.The Mission Community will be led by Rev Paul Sumsion and Rev Ian Fleming will move from Hawkshaw to be curate in charge of the Ramsbottom and Edenfield Team Ministry.The service also saw Jo Sumsion commissioned as a Children and Families Facilitator and there was thanksgiving for the ministry of Rev Sue Wood, who retires next month.Ian will be formally welcomed to the RETM in a service at St Paul’s next Sunday at 11am.
