Reflecting back on the Advent and Christmas season in the parish, it was wonderful to welcome so many people through our doors to share in the joy of the birth of the Christ-Child! If you were new to St Matthew and St Luke, we truly hope that you will join us again at one of our regular services - it would be wonderful to see you!We would also like to extend our warmest thanks to our ministry and wider teams: to Revd Liz and Margaret for their thoughtful reflections and leadership during services, to our Churchwardens for their dedication and diligence to enable our services to run smoothly, and to everyone who welcomed people into church, those involved in dressing the church, the teams serving refreshments, and everyone else who worked behind the scenes. We could not have done it with without you!We wish you a peaceful and blessed 2025 and look forward to seeing you in church soon!

We are thrilled to share the photos from Revd Liz's licensing service with you which summarise the occasion. This was a joyous service of great rejoicing for our parish, and we are truly thankful for all those who contributed to make it a success to give Revd Liz a hearty St Matthew and St Luke welcome!Thank you to the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, the Mayor of Oldham, the Rt Revd Mark Davies, the Ven Karen Smeeton, the Revd Daniel Ramble, Inspector Amie Whitehead from Greater Manchester Police, Darren Clarke, Cllr Eddie Moores, the schools in our parish, our wonderful choir, all the ministry team, church officers and laity of our parish, Liz's friends and family and visiting clergy. We were truly blessed by your presence with us.We also give thanks to God for the dedication of the clergy who gave unstintingly of their time to support us during interregnum and played an important part in ministering to our congregations and community. The photos from the service can be viewed on our website.
Last Sunday we held our final 8:30 am and 10:30 am services before we move to one Choral Eucharist service at 9 am on Sunday mornings starting on the 1st September.A huge thank you goes to our choir for singing the aptly named anthem, 'Lead Me, Lord' reminding us to put our trust in God as he guides us through this next stage of our ministry as a parish and a gathered worshiping community in Chadderton. We thank God for blessing us so richly and pray that he will be with us on our journey into the future as we continue to live out our missional call to share the Gospel in Faith, Hope and Love ❤️.
