St John's supports local charities, especially Hurst Pantry run by Smallshaw Hurst Community Action Group and situated in Cedar Park, Hurst, Ashton Under Lyne.   Hurst Pantry supports the local community of Hurst, Hurst Cross and Smallshaw with the aim of reducing food poverty and waste. Importantly, the Pantry also aims to be a safe place for members to build friendships, and find help and mutual support

We also support Children in Distress - a charity raising funds in the UK to help the most vulnerable children in Romania and provide specialist Hospice care, educational community outreach and respite care for children, their families, and carers.
