Our Priorities:
We have four priorities to help us live out our vision of the church we believe God wants us to be:
* To be a GROWING church with a larger congregation, especially younger people and families
* To be a NURTURING church where all are growing in faith and growing their God given gifts
* To be a SERVING church for those in our local community and further afield
* To be a church with GOOD RELATIONSHIPS with other churches
How we hope to do this:
To be a GROWING church: we want to develop links with existing groups and users of the building, their families and friends, especially Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade and the Sunshine Pre-School; create more child friendly worship; develop links with members of the local African community; make more of the opportunities offered through baptisms.
To be a NURTURING church: we want to create more opportunities for people to use their gifts in the life of the church and have more opportunities during the week for people to grow in their faith, for example creating a Prayer Room, special services, Bible study/nurture courses, Quiet Days, etc.
To be a SERVING church, we want to work together with our partners at Church of the Epiphany to find ways of serving our community effectively and to host activities in church that meet the needs of those in our local community, particularly relating to health, wellbeing, unemployment, loneliness, single parenthood
To be a church with GOOD RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER CHURCHES we want to work more closely with our partners at Church of the Epiphany, with our partner church of St Martin's, Droylsden and with neighbouring churches so that there would be a visible Christian presence in the local area for people of all traditions.
Gracious Father
revive your church in our day,
and make her holy, strong and faithful
for your glory’s sake
in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
