ASH WEDNESDAY

Occuring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Michael & All Angels - The Parish of The Good Shepherd, Ashton
Address
Church Street Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 6XJ, United Kingdom

22nd February is Ash Wednesday a solemn reminder of human mortality and the need for reconciliation with God marking the beginning of the penitential Lenten season.

There will be a joint parish Holy Communion service that day with Imposition of Ashes at St Michael and all Angels Church, Ashton-under-Lyne at 7.30pm.

Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing you have made and forgive the sins of all who are penitent: Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
