About Us

We are a vibrant church situated in a busy and vibrant location in Ashton under Lyne.  The locality is multi cultural and multi faith which enriches the community greatly.  Our congregations are large by comparison with many and include an age and cultural mix.  There are many young families attending, and children are welcomed to take leading parts in our services.  Our Church has many links in the community, which embrace residential housing, nursing and residential homes, local convenience stores, as well as parts of the town centre, including IKEA, Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury's;  also three schools Canon Johnson School, Canon Burrows School and Waterloo School.  There are many activities for children including  the Guide and Scout movements, and Sunday School Events as announced. 

Everyone is welcome at Christ Church regardless of age, gender, background, race or sexuality.  We are all here to journey through life and faith together; to be non-judgemental and to encourage and support each other.

Safeguarding, so that everyone can feel safe, is carefully monitored.  

At the present time, due to the Covid pandemic, we are not doing all the vibrant things which would normally happen.  However, our worship has been carefully thought through and measures are in place to ensure that those attending can feel safe and comfortable.

Current services are abbreviated, and face-coverings are required.
