We are now sharing the common cup during Communion. If communicants do not wish to receive in both kinds, they may do so by receiving only the bread (communion in one kind) or the president may dip the bread in the wine before giving it to the communicant (simultaneous administration). Intinction by the communicant is not recommended.

The president or other minister may choose to wear a mask when in close proximity to members of the congregation / communicants.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): There is no longer a legal requirement for people with coronavirus COVID-19 infection to self- isolate, however if you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19 or a positive test result, the public health advice is to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.

The main symptoms of COVID-19 are a recent onset of any of the following:
• a new continuous cough
• a high temperature
• a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

Christmas Eve Midnight Mass (joint service for both churches)

Full Holy Communion service

Communion is given in both forms with a shared common cup. If you do not wish to share the common cup, the taking of Communion in one form only is acceptable according to the Church of England’s guidance.

Communion at St James is given by the president who will dip the bread in the wine before giving it to the communicant (simultaneous administration). Intinction by the communicant is not allowed due to cross contamination.
