About Us

St Thomas is a welcoming and inclusive church community that shares God’s Love with All.

Built on a hill over looking the Pennine village of Newhey, this stunning, light filled church was built in 1875 and is a replica of Holy Trinity Church, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset (erected 15 years previously). St Thomas is the local Parish Church for the Pennine village of Newhey (formerly spelt New Hey).

We are a traditional, all age, middle of the road congregation with a vibrant and active Sunday School, which attracts many young Christian families to worship with us.

The Church was magnificently restored following an 18 month period of restoration due to a serious fire in December 2007.
