Place is important for us all. Key events in our lives are often bound with a sense of place. For a worshiping Christian community, location holds significance because it is there, in a certain place, their part in the story of God's creation is played out. It is in our buildings old and new that people have prayed. They have given thanks for the good things in life and prayed earnestly through the tough times. Our church buildings are weaved into our history, our tradition and our life today as worshiping communities. While God is with us wherever we go we are grateful for our buildings which help provide us with a sense of connection to our history and to the living God. It is in these places we find quiet, peace and very often a sense of the other, the transcendent. Our buildings also provide us with a gift of having somewhere to meet, a gift not available to all Christians as many around the world are persecuted and so have no building together in.Our move back in to our buildings has been cautious and careful so to ensure the space is as safe as possible. There are somethings we cannot do at this time of pandemic but we can gather, we can pray, we can hear from the word of God, we can share in the meal Jesus invites us to, we can gather as family in Jesus name.If you would like to join us, head over to the benefice website to see the booking details.
