About Us
St Michael & All Angels Church is the parish church of Lawton Moor, also known as Northern Moor. We are a small, friendly and welcoming congregation. The church is part of the Inclusive Church network and the parish lies in the Deanery of Withington which is an Inclusive Deanery.
St Michael & All Angels Church, is a grade II* listed building which was consecrated on 4th December 1937 to the design by the Architect Nugent Francis Catchmaille-Day.
The church is unique, being built in the form of a star (two interlocking squares). Its other striking features are: the impressive stained glass, pointed, east window by Christopher Webb of the heavenly hosts; the huge central, star-form chandelier; and the massive octagonal pulpit and font, with simple incised and coloured line drawings of the sower and John the Baptist.
