After 17 months without an incumbent, we are delighted to announce that Revd Peter Matthews has been licensed as Rector of St John's. Peter is also Rector of St Bride's, Old Trafford, and will be Rector of both parishes 'in plurality' (i.e. half-time for each parish*). *This is due to the fact that Manchester Diocese is facing challenges with the deployment of clergy. However, St John's and St Bride's will still be two separate churches.
We want people to feel safe in church and so we have been encouraging wearing of masks, hand-sanitizing and social distancing. At the moment we only share communion in one form - the bread - but we hope to be able to share the wine safely with those who wish to receive, beginning on Easter Sunday.<br>
