Discovering the way of faith for yourself

One aspect of life we all long for is to be loved— and with love that is with us all the time and never ends. Is it possible to have such love?

Such a love can be ours when we look at Jesus Christ, who died on a cross and rose from the grave—so doing away with all our sins that separate us from God. Jesus gives all who trust in him eternal life—if we seek and find him.

At Chester Cathedral in the cloister is a water sculpture depicting the woman at a well who gave water to Jesus (John ch 4). But Jesus said to the woman (verse 14): ‘Whoever drinks the water I give will never thirst again’ ... this would become ‘a spring of living water welling up to eternal life’.

Water gives us life, and we all need it—try giving up drinking for over three days and see what happens! Everyone needs a continual supply of water.

You can experience a love that none of us deserves by thanking Jesus Christ for his gift of living water. It is an eternal gift from our loving Father.

We only have to ask Jesus for the living water to receive it.
