About Us
Emmanuel is one of two churches in the parish of Weaste, Seedley & Langworthy which is part of the Salford All Saints Team Ministry.
Emmanuel is a church for the Anglicans and Methodists in Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy. A centre for worship, christian service and commmunity engagement and many local activities.
St Ambrose Church was built in 1910 to replace a previous tin church. It was burnt out during the second world war but was reconsecrated in 1956. It served the community well over the years but the congregation joined in a Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) with Salford Methodist Community Church. Having now joined together they are worshipping in their purpose built Church & Centre on Langworthy Road.
The New Church was officially opened on Saturday 4th July 2015 by Rt Revd Chris Edmundson, Bishop of Bolton, Diocese of Manchester and Revd Dr Keith Davies, Chair of Manchester and Stockport District of the Methodist Church.
"The parish of Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
