Parish Prayer Walks in August 2023
each Thursday 10 am
Each week we will be walking around a different part of the Parish, praying for the people who live and work here.
Prayer Walking is just what it sounds like - praying to God while walking around. Instead of closing our eyes and bowing our
heads, we keep our eyes open to the needs we see around us and bow our hearts to ask humbly for God to intervene. As we walk and pray, we need to listen for promptings by God’s Spirit to pray for individuals and groups we meet along the way.
We meet at St Paul’s or St Andrew’s and go out to walk for about ¾ of an hour, praying silently. Then we will come back togetherand share our experiences. If you are not able to join us, please spend the time praying at home. You can share your experiences by phone, email or on Facebook.
Walk 1 (3 Aug) from St Andrew’s to Carr Clough
Walk 2 (10 Aug) from St Paul’s to Bury New Road
Walk 3 (17 Aug) from St Paul’s to Littleton Road
Walk 4 (24 Aug) from St Andrew’s to Rainsough
Walk 5 (31 Aug) from St Paul’s to Broughton Park
W–Worship God A–Ask God L–Listen to God K–Get to know the Parish
A blessing as we go out:
‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.’
(Numbers 6:24-26).
