Electoral Roll Renewal 2025
Every six years we draw up our Electoral Roll* from scratch. It is open to anyone rising 16 in the course of 2025 who lives in the parish who will be ‘Resident Members’. Those who live outside the parish need to have attended regularly for a period of at least 6 months at the point where they apply for membership.
We will begin this revision Sunday 6th April
Any baptised person living within the parish is entitled upon application to have their name entered on the Electoral Roll of the church. The application form explains what that means for applicants who are not Anglican/members of the Church of England.
Applicants from outside the parish are eligible for entry as above, but with a further qualification that they have attended the parish church worship regularly for at least six months prior to their application.
Forms are available in church togther with an explanation of the rules, and a data privacy notice. A certain level of detail is required to be disclosed, as these are a statutory requirement. This is explained in the notes.
The Electoral Roll of the parish (church) is important, as it determines the maximum number of members who can be elected to the Parochial Church Council and the maximum number of lay representatives on Deanery Synod.
*This is not the same as the civil Electoral Roll which lists those eligible to vote in local and national elections
The application forms, notes and notices are available in the boxes below. The application forms are in two formats, one interactive, and can be sent electronically to [email protected] OR printed off and delivered by hand. The closing date for applications is contained on the form.
