Ash Wednesday Service with imposition of ashes

St Peter, Blackley

St Peter's church was built in 1844.

We are first and foremost a community of prayer, hope and loving service and aim to do the following:

• Partner with others to mobilise volunteers for those who need supplies

• Co-ordinate appropriate pastoral care for the isolated

• Use social media channels to connect and support

Please be assured that we are praying for Blackley and its amazing people. If you think we can help someone, or you would like to contact us and support our work then please do so on 0161 264 9982 or by email [email protected]. You can also engage with us on Facebook if you prefer.

The church can be reached on foot from Blackley Village or from Hill Lane and French Barn Lane to the rear of the graveyard. If you would like to come by car, there is parking available next to the church for those with limited mobility problems, reached by Lion Brow. However, Lion Brow can be quite bumpy so it is better to park at the rear on Hill Lane if possible and approach the church through the gate in the wall. Use post code M9 6PE to park here.

A warm welcome is extended to all.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Blackley: St Peter is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, David Armsbey, or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor through the Diocesan website https://www.manchester.anglican.org/support-for-parishes/safeguarding/. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
