We are delighted to share that Rev'd Pam Smith was joyfully inducted and installed as Incumbent of St Andrew's Blackley and Assistant Curate of St Peter's and St Paul's Blackley on Wednesday, 30th October 2024, by +Mark. It was a service filled with celebration and warmth.
Pam, a true local, was born and raised in Higher Blackley, and after a brief stint in Oldham, she has lived in Blackley all her life. Pam’s journey with faith began early; she was baptised at St Paul's Blackley at just four months old. Her childhood and youth were spent deeply involved in the church community—starting in Sunday School, moving to the Choir, and later joining the Church Lad's and Church Girl's Brigade. She was confirmed at St Peter's in Blackley, and during her youth, she also became active in St Andrew's Youth Group alongside her now-husband, Kevin. They married at St Andrew's in 1991, and both of their children were baptised at St Paul's. Their strong connections to all three Blackley churches have been a cornerstone of their faith journey and commitment to serving God here.
Pam is a writer, musician, and creative person with a love for all things crafty. She holds a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from the Open University and a Post-graduate Diploma in Theology from the University of Durham, earned during her ordination journey.
Pam and Kevin are excited about moving into St Andrew's Rectory in due course, and look forward to welcoming congregation, family, and friends for social and parish events. They eagerly anticipate serving the parishes in this new chapter of ministry together.
