For most parents, sending their child to school in September without brand new shoes, bag, and uniform is unthinkable. But some families have no choice. As a church, we are committed to giving dignity to children, raising their self-esteem, helping them to feel they belong and thus, enabling them to achieve. The clothes rail is up in church to receive your gifts either as clothing or, if you prefer, to make a cash pledge and we will purchase the clothing on your behalf. Last year, we collected around £600 worth of uniform. Wood Street Mission supported just under 4,000 children.
